Berlin - East Side Gallery

At the eastern banks of the river Spree there is a 1,3 kilometer long section of preserved Berlin wall: the East Side Gallery. After the reünion of the both Germanies artists covered this part of the wall with graffiti, but now there's not much to see from the original works. The paint is losing color and pieces of the wall are falling off. There are also people who used the wall for their own artistic work and there is some new graffiti to see now. Only a small part has been restored. This place is still worth a visit, to give you the idea of the situation of the people who lived here and wondered what was behind that big wall.
