Lanzarote - Timanfaya national park

Close to the entrance of Timanfaya national park you will find this colorful part of vulcanic landscape. The largest eruptions in the history of Lanzarote took place in 1730 and covered huge parts of the island with lava and axis. Many villages were snowed under with axis, but only 1 person died. Temperatures right under the earth's surface are still extremely high, straw even catches fire when you put it in a whole of 2 metres deep. The cook of the El Diablo restaurant in the park uses a natural oven which is 6 metres below the earth's surface, temperatures are about 400 degrees here.
