In Chengyang live the Dong people and they have once built the most beautiful rain- and windbridge of this area. In a Dong village you can also find one or more drumtowers, once used to beat the drums in case of attacks from outside the village. Both the bridge and the towers are always constructed with only wood, just like th village houses. Therefore it’s important to take care that no fire breaks out.
In Chengyang wonen de Dong en zij hebben hier ooit de mooiste en grootste wind- en regenbrug van de omgeving gebouwd. Verder zijn er in een Dong dorp altijd één of meer tamboerstorens, waar vroeger op de trom geslagen werd bij dreigende aanvallen van buitenaf. Zowel de brug als de torens zijn altijd, net als de huizen in het dorp, volledig van hout. Er moet dus goed opgelet worden dat er geen brand uitbreekt.
