Isola San Michele is surrounded by a huge wall that keeps the seawater outside. On this burrial island of Venice there are a church, a monastery and many, many graves of all the people that died in Venice. These pillars are part of the monastery.
Isola San Michele is omgeven door een enorme muur die het zeewater buiten houdt. Op dit "dodeneiland" van Venetië zijn een kerk, een klooster en vele graven van iedereen die in Venetië gestorven is. Deze zuilen zijn onderdeel van het klooster.
