As in 2006 the rule for most of the German highways still is: feel free to drive as fast as you wish, you can reach every destination in the country in a pretty short time. In general the roads are good, but we probably never get used to the German signposting. There is no longer a difference between the roads in the former BRD and DDR.
Aangezien ook in 2006 nog voor de meeste Duitse snelwegen geldt: ga gerust zo hard je kunt, ben je redelijk snel op elke plek in het land. De wegen zijn over het algemeen goed, maar die Duitse bewegwijzering, daar zullen wij wel nooit aan wennen. Verschil tussen de wegen in voormalig West- en Oost Duitsland is er eigenlijk niet meer.

There are plenty of hotels everywhere in Germany, also close to the highways (very useful while travelling) and there are enough apartments for rent and campsites as well. Actually it's always clean and properly, even in the highway hotels it's all spick-and-span.
In heel Duitsland zijn voldoende hotels te vinden, ook vlakbij de snelwegen (handig om te overnachten op doorreis) en ook appartementen en campings zijn er genoeg. Eigenlijk is het er altijd schoon en netjes, zelfs in het snelweghotel kon je van de grond eten.

The German national snack, the currywurst, nowadays has its own museum in Berlin. Here you can find the one and only original Currywurst Museum in the world.
For all of you who like a good party, there is the opportunity of the yearly Oktoberfest in Munich. During this largest beer-festival in the world, you can drink all kinds of beer during these 2 weeks in October, together with 6 million others from around the globe.
De nationale snack van Duitsland, de currywurst, heeft tegenwoordig zijn eigen museum in Berlijn. Hier vind je het enige echte Currywurst Museum ter wereld.
Voor iedereen die wel van een feesje houdt is het jaarlijkse Oktoberfest in München welicht een aanrader. Tijdens dit grootste bierfestival ter wereld kun je je 2 weken lang, samen met zo'n 6 miljoen andere mensen uit heel de wereld, te goed doen aan een uitgebreid assortiment aan bier.
