Visitors of the Philae temple need to take a taxi from Aswan first and then there's a short boatride as well. All this effort will be rewarded with the sight of a huge temple, wonderfully situated on an island. Throughout the entire complex beautiful inscriptions can be found, although many have been destroyed by early Muslims. According to them there is just one God, and that's Allah, all other Gods needed to be destroyed. What a shame!

Nederlandse vlag Wie naar de Philae tempel wil moet eerst een eind met de taxi, vanuit Aswan, en dan nog eens met de boot. De moeite wordt echter beloond met een gigantische tempel, prachtig gelegen op een eiland. Door de hele tempel zijn mooie inscripties te vinden, hoewel een groot deel ook is stuk gemaakt door vroegere Moslims. Volgens hen is er maar één God en dat is Allah, al het andere moest destijds vernietigd worden. Zonde!
